About the Embassy of Angola in India

Diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of India were established at the level of the Permanent Mission in New York on 2 June 1979, while cooperation relations began on 4 October 1986, with the signing of the General Agreement for Economic, Technical, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation in Luanda, during the visit of India’s former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

In 1987, the former President of the Republic of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, visited India, considered the highest point in the cooperative relations between the two countries. Since then there have been exchanges of visits between the two countries.
